SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — November 2, 2026. South Lake Tahoe’s winter preparedness site offers a GPS-based snowplow tracking system showing where municipal crews have recently worked.
What the map can show
The city says snowplows have location-tracking equipment and that updates can take up to fifteen minutes to appear. The tracker is still described as undergoing testing, so a missing update does not necessarily mean crews have stopped.
How residents should use it
The map is a planning aid, not permission to drive on an unsafe, snow-covered or closed road. Residents should also follow active winter parking restrictions and use official Caltrans and road-closure notices.
Where to report a problem
The city welcomes snow removal feedback at csltpw@cityofslt.us. Avoid trying to stop or follow plows in heavy snow, and keep children and pets off snow berms near active roads.
