South Lake Tahoe City Clerk: Michelle Davis Leads Brandi Bannister 2,998 to 754

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — November 4, 2026, 12:00 a.m. Pacific election-night update. Michelle Elaine Davis holds a substantial lead in the South Lake Tahoe city clerk election in the final election-night vote-center tally.

Reported preliminary totals

The midnight report gives Michelle Elaine Davis 2,998 votes and Brandi Bannister 754, a gap of 2,244 votes. In the 8 p.m. report Davis had 2,774 and Bannister had 633, so the later counts added votes to both candidates.

What the result means locally

This is an election for city clerk, a separate municipal office from the City Council and city treasurer. The clerk’s responsibilities concern municipal records, council proceedings and election-related administrative duties. The vote is not certified, despite the large early margin.

Why this is not final

South Tahoe Now published the updated figures from El Dorado County’s final election-night vote-center tally at approximately midnight after the November 3 election. The county’s election office says remaining ballot-by-mail submissions and other valid ballots will be counted in further twice-weekly updates. These are unofficial election-night results, not a newly verified November 5 canvass report or a certified outcome. El Dorado County’s county certification deadline is December 3, 2026.
