SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — November 4, 2026, 12:00 a.m. Pacific election-night update. Erika Gonzalez, John Friedrich and Gantt Miller occupy the first three places in South Lake Tahoe’s 13-candidate City Council election, with three seats on the ballot.

Reported preliminary totals

The midnight report lists Erika Gonzalez 1,698 selections, John Friedrich 1,390, Gantt Miller 1,303, Heather Horgan 1,131, Kelly O’Haire 1,101, Dyna Boen 943, Douglas Williams 756, Scott Robbins 704, Dina Ramaha-Pino 652, Veronica Morales 596, Aimi Xistra 502, Grant McCracken 364 and Nick Piliae 72.

What the result means locally

Miller’s provisional third-place advantage over Horgan is 172 selections. The first posted 8 p.m. report had Miller 1,197 and Horgan 999, a 198-selection gap: their relative positions remained unchanged, but the margin narrowed after more ballots were counted. These figures are selections in a vote-for-three election, not unique voter turnout.

Why this is not final

South Tahoe Now published the updated figures from El Dorado County’s final election-night vote-center tally at approximately midnight after the November 3 election. The county’s election office says remaining ballot-by-mail submissions and other valid ballots will be counted in further twice-weekly updates. These are unofficial election-night results, not a newly verified November 5 canvass report or a certified outcome. El Dorado County’s county certification deadline is December 3, 2026.
